The pop star, who was hit with a divorce filing from Russell Brand on December 31, tweeted late Saturday.
"NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, "close source" or my family," Katy wrote.
The blast may have been in response to her evangelical Christian parents sermonizing about how their daughter's divorce was bringing the faithful in to hear them speak at church.
Katy's parents Keith and Mary Hudson appeared at an Ohio church last week where he ranted against Jews and she almost gleefully said that "Katy trending on the Internet" was bringing more people to see them.
Perry had kinder words for her fans.
"I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world," she tweeted.
But It seems like Katy Perry would basically like for her parents to shut up!
