Last night was the 24th annual Scholarship & Awards Ceremony which was held at the Malcom X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center. And Bey’s award-winning article, which had a lot of buzz surrounding the event this year in anticipation that she would attend the ceremony served to recognize the work of more than 40 journalists, however, was a no show for the event! (No word yet as to why she couldn’t make it)
But there were still a few well-known attendees including Melanie Fiona, Mashonda, Emil Wilbekin, Tonya Lee, and Constance White (Editor-in-Chief of Essence Magazine).
