Watch The Bob Marley "RockDoc" Which Aired On Vh1! (Video)

In-case you missed it, last night Vh1 aired its new documentary called "RockDoc" on the late reggae icon singer/songwriter/musician Bob Marley.
The documentary was a very well made film and did a fabulous job of capturing the brilliance of this great artist, as well as his personal flaw, through close-up interviews with those who knew Marley best - his family and closest friends. More details below.......
Marley, who's real name is Robert Nesta "BOB" Marley, has inspired many people across the world with his music, including the people of Zimbabwe to which he had enjoyed traveling to the country to celebrate the country's independence when he was alive.
And in the RockDoc, it focused on how he immersed himself in the Rastafarian Lifestyle to being high, and actively playing sports to feel a vibe before writing a track.
He was the rhythm guitarist and lead singer for the ska, rocksteady and reggae band Bob Marley & The Wailers in 1963 to 1981. Marley remains the most widely known and revered performer of reggae music, and is credited with helping spread both Jamaican music and the Rastafari movement to a worldwide audience.
Overall I'd say it was a grade-A documentary about one of the most important people of the twentieth century. As well as one of the most influential and inspirational. A man who came from absolutely nothing to worldwide fame, and up until his death his only goal in life was to unite humanity. Check out the clips for yourself below:

Marley faced questions about his own racial identity throughout his life. He once reflected:
"I don't have prejudice against myself. My father was a white man and my mother was black. They call me half-caste or whatever. I'm not on anyone's side. Neither the black man's side nor the white man's side. I'm on God's side, the one who created me and cause me to come from black and white."Clip2:
In clip3, Friends, former colleagues and fellow musicians talk about the meaning, origin and sound of the music genre that Bob Marley made famous:
They were talking about how he used t write the melodies of his songs and then fill in the words later and then played a rough cut of this track that you could tell was just an improvised melody over the chords of the "Redemption Song."
It just gave me chills. This man may have been the second coming (and not the king of Ethiopia that he worshiped)
Plus, that scene in which he united the two opposing Politicians of Jamacia onstage and forced them to stand hand in hand in front of the entire country... after all of the bloodshed that country endured, was just priceless.
However, in 1955, when Bob Marley was 10 years old, his father died of a heart attack at age 70. And on May 11, 1981 Bob, 36, died of a heart attack in Miami, Florida.
BONUS:
The compilation album Legend, was released in 1984 three years after his death, is reggae's best-selling album, going ten times Platinum which is also known as one Diamond in the U.S., and selling 25 million copies.
