Again!.. BET Co-Founder Sheila Johnson PUTS The Network On BLAST For Promoting STEREOTYPES Of Young People!

Sheila Johnson who created BET along with her former husband Bob Johnson, is once again putting the network on blast for not doing what it was originally set out to do, and that's encouraging young teens to be successful, have a voice and become leaders.

During the "Conversations and Encounters" program at the Camel Art and Film Festival in Monterrey County California, this past weekend. Johnson talked about her early life, achievements and proudest accomplishments (Teen Summit) at the mega black enterprise, which ran on the network from 1989 to 2002.

Here's what she had this to say:
"All those young people on the show became so successful because they had a voice. And we were talking about issues out there and they became leaders in life."
"I'm not thrilled with how the network is running right now. They are reinforcing negative stereotypes of young people. African-Americans in particular."
"I think we squandered a really important cable network, when it really could have been the voice of Black America. We're losing our voice as a race as a result."
She then added:
"I'm really worried about what our young people are watching. There are so many young people who are using the television as a babysitter. We have parents who are not being parents and not monitoring what their children are watching."
Do you agree with what she's saying?... is she to be blamed after selling BET? or is network really losing their sense of purpose?
