Jovan Belcher's Daughter Zoey To Receive $1 Million From NFL + Kasandra Perkins Laid To Rest!
December 08, 2012GWL StaffFormer 25 year-old Kansas Chief Linebacker Jovan Belcher, who shot and killed himself along with his 22 year-old baby mother Kasandra Perkins on December 1st, left behind a 1 year-old daughter that will be taken care of by the National Football League. And is slated to receive $1 Million dollar throughout her life span.
According to TMZ, the NFL has agreed to pay for funeral arrangements to relieve the families from massive funeral and memorial service bills. Plus, baby Zoey, who is now in the custody of the Belcher family, will be taken care of through the league's Surviving Child Benefit and health care plan.
According to USA Today, she will receive $9,000 a month for the next four years and at least $4,000 a month until she turns 18, or 23 if she decides to go to college."
Belcher's beneficiaries, the identities of whom are kept private, will also receive life insurance payments of $1.2 million and additional money from his savings accounts.

In a white casket bedecked with a spray of white lilies and pink roses, laid 22 year-old Kasandra on Thursday, and was the mourners’ focal point at Ridgeview Family Fellowship in Blue Ridge, about 40 miles northeast of Dallas with over 200 people attending the funeral.
Steve Sweeney, senior pastor at Ridgeview, offered a prayer for God to bring healing to both her family and Belcher’s family. He also prayed for strength for Zoey, who was at the service.

“Kasandra Michelle Perkins, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away December 1, 2012 at the age of 22. She was born October 14, 1990, in McKinney, Texas, to Darryl Keith Perkins and Rebecca Anne (Thompson) Gonzalez. Kasandra graduated from Anderson High School, class of 2009, in Austin, Texas. She was an instructor with Lone Star Dance Team and taught praise dance in her church. She was a member of the Kansas City Chief Woman’s Organization and was involved in after school programs as well as volunteering with other organizations.
“She is survived by her daughter, Zoey Michelle Belcher; mother, Becky Gonzalez and husband Jose of Fort Worth, Texas; father, Darryl Perkins of Austin, Texas; sister, Angela Moore of Blue Ridge, Texas; brother, Darryl Perkins II (DJ) of Austin, Texas; Grandparents, Frank and Elaine Aikey of Greenville, Texas, Joe Thompson of Michigan and Viola Perkins of Austin, Texas; great-grandmother, Doris Downing of Blue Ridge, Texas; several uncles, aunts, and cousins.There will also be a separate service held later today in Austin (Dec. 8th). Perkins leaves behind two siblings, her parents, grandparents and a great-grandmother.
