Kandi Burruss' "Stay Prayed Up" No.1 On iTunes + Gets Slammed By The Church!

After releasing her new gospel single called, "Stay Prayed Up" on Monday, "Real Housewives of Atlanta" Kandi Burruss can now celebrate for job well-done, as her new gospel single is now No.1 on iTunes gospel chart.

The single addresses relatable positivism through prayer and belts out what Kandi has gone through over the past couple of years including her own life's trials that she's been victorious in overcoming by staying prayed up and being thankful for favor, according to RollingOut.

And despite all this new success, the Church community is not having it as they are offended by the Adult Toy maker's decision to do a gospel record, according to AllChristiansnews.com.

Here's what they also had to say:
The person who manages Kandi's singing career encouraged her to get back in the studio and take a break from planning her forthcoming wedding and decorating her home. What her manager didn’t know was that the artist felt compelled to write and record a gospel song.
Burruss took to her Facebook page to explain why she’d chosen to record the song. “I knew when I decided to do it that I would be criticized. That’s to be expected. I’m a single mom that had a child out of wedlock, I speak openly about s*x on #KandiKoatedNights, I have #BedroomKandi, etc… I’m very honest about who I am, ” she wrote.
For some reason, Christians revere intimacy as a sinful, inappropriate act. Truth of the matter, it is a gift from God Himself. Intimacy creates life. It’s powerful. It’s pleasurable. It’s rewarding — when carried out in a way that God instructs it to be. Who is anyone to tell Burruss that she shouldn’t be writing a gospel song? We have no idea if the Holy Spirit moved her to write that song, not for herself, but for someone else who needs to hear it. Oftentimes people are turned away from the Christian faith because of the constant judgment.
Do you think the church should be offended by Kandi's decision to do a gospel track? .....And if the church is really offended, I feel it's like saying don't pray to god if your not a Christian--- because she's just stating how she truly feels, what she's gone through and overcome, along with the countless nights of prayer in the form of a song.

  1. Its crazy that so many 'so called' CHRISTIANS are being that judgmental, although it definitely can't be all Christians seeing as how this song is now #1 on Itunes, right? Anyway, as anybody who truly understands the concept of Christianity will tell you, we all fall short of the glory of God. None of us will ever be anything but human beings because that is how God created us, in his image, but born into sinfulness. The sooner Christians realize that no man is perfect, the sooner they'll stop hating on individuals who make contributions to their faith. And the sooner they'll learn to stop worshipping these false prophets (a la Eddie Long) who are after all, only humans just like the rest of us, and who are bound to fail at being as perfect as Christ since they are not and never will be He.
