After checking into a Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel earlier this month for some alone time, Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead yesterday just hours past his check-out time (July 14).

The 31 year-old star, who played a major role in the success of the show, has admitted to having a rough year that lead him to substance abuse problems. Where he was forced to check-into a rehab facility for treatment earlier this year.

So far, police officials have no known cause of death and have ruled out foul play in Cory's death. This is what Vancouver Police Chief Doug LePard had to say during a press conference late Saturday:
"There was others with Mr. Monteith in his room earlier last night, but video and fob key entries show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours and we believe he was alone when he died. When he missed his check-out time, staff went to the room at noon and found his body."

This is definitely sad news for his Glee friends, fans and especially his girlfriend Lea Michele who recently revealed that she had every intention of spending the rest of her life with Cory. But now, all she has is their memories.

Glee‘s executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television, and the Fox Broadcasting Company have spoken out after the tragic death of Cory Monteith (via JustJared).
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic news,” a joint statement read. “Corywas an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
