IT'S ON! Nicki Minaj DISSES Iggy Azalea in Newly-Released Swizz Beatz' Single "Hands Up" [NEW SINGLE]
August 23, 2013GWL StaffBut it seems like Minaj has been at it for a little longer as she has been gradually and reportedly subtweeting the newcomer Azalea after a 3-year-old tweet was recovered by some of Minaj's fans (really?) where Iggy was apparently hinting Nicki hadn't been rapping 100% live on her 2010 BET Awards performance. Especially when Iggy has praised Minaj continuously and publicly every time she is asked about other female rappers in most of her interviews even declaring she would love to collaborate with the current "rap queen" (here's another fun fact: Iggy raps "Nicki paved the way" in the track "Treasure Island" of her 2011 debut mixtape.)
And that's not all, she also didn't seem to appreciate when Iggy expressed her opinion on Minaj's 2012 critically-panned album "Roman Reloaded" stating she loved it but wished there had been a more subtle transition between the pop tracks and hip-hop tracks when asked about it. Even if it seemed like some peace among top female rappers was finally in the horizon with the arrival of Azalea, seems like Minaj isn't just ready to start sharing the spotlight with any other women.
Now for today's actual report: so Nicki Minaj is featured in Swizz Beatz's brand new track "Hands Up" along with 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross (listen here). Read Minaj's verse below and see if you also catch the shade towards the newbie rapper Iggy Azalea who is nominated at this Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards for her debut single "Work":
"Nah I can't work with none of themSeems like that collaborating won't be happening anytime soon, Iggy! Let's see if Nicki will also stick to her current word of "no female rappers collab" as no one stays at the top forever in this industry, as Lil Kim and other past female emcees now know very well...
They talk slick then wonder why I be sonning them
I said Bitch I'm a mogul
Yes I am global
I don't do Barnes but yes I am Noble
Every Interview yes, I am their focal (point)
But I don't give a fuck, Boink"

I don't see how those verses show that she was dissing Iggy. There are SO many people who come for Nicki (A. Banks for example), so I dont see how you guys immediately assumed its about Iggy.
ReplyDeleteSomeone always thinks Nicki's verse is about them smh
ReplyDeleteget money, everything else is irrelevant
ReplyDeleteNicki Minaj's verses keep getting weaker...
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting on Nicki to deliver that one song that puts her at the level of Lil Kim? I like her but she doesn't have any memorable hits. To me anyway?
