Last week, reports went viral claiming singer Raz B was in a coma in China following a nightclub brawl. Now, the singer's manager, Elayne Rivers, is saying the coma report was a hoax.
Rivers and Raz's brother, Ricky Romance, both spoke to CNN about the false report:
Rivers and Raz's brother, Ricky Romance, both spoke to CNN about the false report:
"The comments about Raz being in a coma did not come from his official representative," Rivers said.
The singer's brother, who performs under the name Ricky Romance, said in a statement sent to CNN Monday afternoon that he had been "misled by unknown reasons."
"I was unfortunately unable to contact my brother at the time and then panicked," Romance said. "I then alerted as many people of this information hoping to gather facts... Since the source that gave me this information was what I thought to be legitimately reliable I didn't question I just believed. I apologize if I seem like I jumped to conclusions but a coma is a serious situation and it was concerning my brother whom is my best friend as well. I sincerely apologize for the confusion I caused if that is the case."So it appears as if Toy Jones, the original source of the coma story, fabricated the entire thing. She claims to have been hired by Raz B's family to get the story out.
If it was a hoax why did Raz B and his representatives wait so long to come out and say it was a hoax? I think this could be one of those clever tricks that talent agencies use to keep their clients name in the media.
