Actress Halle Berry has landed a role on the 13th 'TV DRAMA' episode of, "Extant," produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios, and set to premiere in Summer 2014.

The 47-year-old Academy-award actress, who is married to French actor Olivier Martinez, continues to have a good year and following the birth of her second child -- over the weekend -- to a baby boy named, Maceo-Robert Martinez.

“There's only one Halle Berry and we are incredibly honored that she has chosen EXTANT to expand her illustrious career,” said Steven Spielberg. “As she does with everything she touches, she will bring a deep authenticity to her role and I very much look forward to working with her.”

“I'm always on the lookout for amazing roles and when you see material that contains this strong of auspices, nuance and complexity it compels me to run toward it no matter the medium. For five months a year I'll get to live with and play this incredibly intelligent and vulnerable woman, and for the remainder of the year I'll continue to look for other roles that move me as deeply as this one,” said Halle Berry.

Berry, who won an Oscar for Monster's Ball, will play an astronaut, returning home after a year alone in space, who tries to reconnect with her husband and son. Her experiences in space and at home lead to history-changing events.

With her countless award nobs, will this land the talented actress another Oscar? Well, there's no way of knowing at this point but if her luck in life carries over into her professional life then the odds are good.
