Kerry Washington's Husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, RETIRES From Football

With a baby on the way, actress Kerry Washington will be the only working parent in her marriage as her baller husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, announced Friday that he has retired from football after 11 seasons in the NFL.


According to the 32-year-old Oakland Raider, "I've been blessed and fortunate to have a successful NFL career. Another journey is starting for me right now."

He adds (during the press conference at the team's headquarters), "You start getting these feelings -- it's time. I just felt that it was the right time."
A reporter then asked the NFLer about how his wife reacted to his retirement decision, he replied; "I've had a lot of support from my family. Everybody's just been great about it."

Two years ago, Nnamdi signed a five-year contract worth $60 million when he played with the Eagles and was paid $25 million following a trade to the Oakland Raiders.

Us Weekly first broke the news about Washington, 36, and the athlete expecting their first child together in late October.

The couple began dating in the summer of 2012 and secretly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Hailey, Idaho on June 24. She's currently filming Season 3 of the ABC drama show, "Scandal."
