The year is wrapping up and we all can look back and say "2013" was filled with sadness, celebs exiting the closet and couples that we thought were rock solid called it quits while majority of them are still going strong into 2014.

Now we've "rounded up" a list of celebrities we thought would never split despite their odd marriage or relationship.

1. Actor Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones:

Are they on or off? These are burning questions fans have been wanting to know since earlier this year. The high-profiled couple haven't been photographed together since April 22nd, and have walked red carpets solo, vacationed separately with their kids, and are currently living apart.

Douglas, 69, is said to be relaxing on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia and Catherine, 44, is at their home in New York.

And with her bipolar disorder and his cancer battle, the estranged couple, who have two children, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10, decided to take a break right after Douglas came back from the Cannes Film in May.

A close family friend told People Magazine: "They want the best for their kids, no matter what happens." Neither star has filed for divorce or moved toward a legal separation, sources say. Douglas and Catherine got married in 1988.
2.  Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez:

This former young couple came under heavy media scrutiny the moment their relationship went public in December 2010.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's relationship started hitting a few bumps along the way after reports of Justin's secret affairs was splashed on the covers of every media site including newspapers.

Finally, after a number of spits and reunions, Selena and Justin called it quits in January.
3. Miley Cyrus and Liem Hemsworth:

It was literally a romance straight out of the movies! Former Disney child star Miley Cyrus and actor Liem Hemsworth experienced their love at first sight after [Liam] played the lead star in Cyrus' "The Last Song" video in 2009.

The duo announced their engagement in 2012 via Twitter. But it wasn't long before news of their impending breakup swirled around the internet. In April 2013, it was believed to be the last straw of their relationship along with Miley's dramatic punk-rock makeover and her lewd VMA performance with Robin Thicke  -- lets just say "a good girl, gone bad." 

Sources close to Liam told Gossipwelove.com exclusively that "she became the girl he never pictured himself with or his wife-to-be and the mother of his 'future' kids. That MTV performance was the straw that broke the camel's back."

After months of keeping the troubled relationship a secret, the duo finally went their separate ways in September 2013 -- the same time Miley ramped up promotion for her new, "Bangerz," album.

Liem was also spotted vacaying Cyrus' swanky LA Pad and quickly moved on with Mexican model, Eiza Gonzalez.

"It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years," Cyrus told Barbara Walters in December. "But now, I just feel like I can actually be happy. I wait for those moments of silence, when I'm just at my house, by myself." She also wrote a track, "Wrecking Ball," inspired by her past relationship.

Plus, 2014 will be a good year for the Twerking Queen as she kicks off her first "Bangerz" tour-- previously announced at this year's Madison Square Garden's Jingle Ball concert.
4. Kris Kardashian and Bruce Jenner:

After 23 years of marriage, reality star and 'Kardashian Empire' momager Kris Kardashian and Bruce Jenner announced their separation in October, with reports claiming they had been living apart for almost a year.

The renowned cheater [Kris] shortly after found herself in the arms of a much younger man... life's repeating itself again for this fashion forward mom. Kris has been seen on numerous dates with former 'Bachelor' star Ben Flajnik, and on a few shopping sprees at Barney's New York. You can tell she's a true definition of a sugar mama, especially working ward to keep men who are 28 years her junior. Yay, for the cougars!

"You find who you fall in love with in life," she told Entertainment Tonight in November. "If they happen to be a certain age, they happen to be a certain age."

And apparently, Bruce is 'allegedly' seeking spousal support from his estranged wife and won't give up without a fight. Looks like some drama brewing for 2014.

Hate to say it! But we're happy to see them separated. Bruce was seemingly unhappy with the living arrangements and the way he was being treated by Kris.
5. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr:

This couple shocked the world when they announced their divorce just after six years of marriage. Aussie model Miranda and British actor Orlando were the picture perfect couple -- or maybe in the eyes of fans and the media -- when they first started dating in 2007.

The once happy couple got married three years later and welcomed a son named, Glynn, in 2011. But two years later, they suddenly hit a rocky patch in their marriage which was irreconcilable and quickly filed for a divorce.

Despite being super close for their son's sake, Bloom recently told Katie Couric; "Miranda and I love each other, we're a family and we're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives." Even though its a bitter-sweet moment for Bloom and Kerr, we want to wish them all the best.
6. Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough:

Not even an engagement could have saved their relationship! Media maven Ryan Seacrest, 38, and his ex-girlfriend Julianne Hough, 24, didn't stand a chance after three years of dating. The duo called it quits earlier this year due to work commitments that forced them apart.

A source tells US Weekly, "Honestly, their schedules were too hectic." "It just got to be too much. I think they both just sort of knew they couldn't do it anymore. The travel and lifestyle got to be too much. Who knows if this is just for now, but I think this is for good."

There's really not much to say about this former couple.
7. Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger:

Lewis and Nicole were another celebrity couple fallen due to heavy work commitments and constant traveling. However, there have been some swirling rumors of a possible 2014 reconciliation. So we'll just have to wait and see.
8. Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder:

Back in May, Vampire Diaries' co-stars Nina Dobrev, 24, and Ian Somerhalder, 34, announced that they had ended their 3-year relationship but would however, "remain best friends." We hope they will get back together soon, maybe 2014 will be a fresh start.
9. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart:

What happened? Where are they now? Are a few of the many questions that we alone can answer! Yeah baby, let's get to it.

First, what happened? Twilight stars Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart called it quits in May, after Kristen's affair with 41-year-old director Rupert Sanders went public. The actress was forced to apologized in a press conference held in Los Angeles over the Summer. That's embarrassing!

Where are they now? The duo haven't been seen or photographed together since their split, a source told US weekly in October that "they got together at Pattinson's L.A. home in August and had "a very intense conversation." "They will probably pick up where they left off," the source added. "Rob is obsessed with her."

Too bad, Rob is reportedly not feeling the same way about the beautiful actress, as he recently gave a candid interview to Australia's Sunday Style... showing little simpathy for Kristen.

The 27-year-old actor told Sunday Style; “I don’t ever feel the need to forgive or expect people to be.” He added, “I judge people on their actions. I don’t really care if it’s wrong or right, I give them the benefit of the doubt. If they do something I can’t be bothered to deal with, I just cut them out.”

Wow, that explains why Rob couldn't consider forgiving Kristen.

And as a matter of fact: Since their breakup, Pattinson has rebounded! He quietly began dating model Dylan Penn -- the daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright -- in September. Stewart, meanwhile, appears to have remained single while working on her upcoming film, Sils Maria, in Switzerland.
10. Cherly Cole and Tre Holloway:

Just after 14 months of dating, the "Girls Aloud" singer parted ways with her backup dancer beau, Tre, due to clashing schedules and the difficulties of maintaining communication through a long-distance relationship.

"Cheryl and Tre tried to make it work but the long-distance relationship and work commitment got the better of them," an insider told The Sun. Cheryl confirmed the breakup via Twitter:

"Sometimes I just sit here by myself wondering why you're all so kind and nice and caring towards me. It's gets overwhelming. #soldiers," she tweeted.

"Thank you for everything I mean that from the [heart] I love you. You're amazing."

Tre is fine tho!

11. Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana:

Bradley and Zoe were reportedly in an on-and-off-again relationship for two years and 'allegedly' called it off due to a fight over Cooper's ex-girlfriend, actress Renee Zellweger.

According to TimesofIndia, Renee had apparently sent the actor a note and some flowers after she saw his performance in Silver Linings Playbook. Saldana then saw the note and soon after moved on by secretly tying the knot with Italian artist Marco Perego in June 2013 in London. Saldana's reasons apparently to get married were for sanity.
12. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom:

After four years of marriage and about to be a filthy rich bitch, Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from her NBA baller hubby Lamar Odom this month citing, "irreconcilable differences," just days after he pleaded no contest to a DUI charge.

Lamar is however happy about the divorce, claiming the reality star dragged his career in the dirt and can't wait to move forward with his career and life.

Just after 30 days of getting to know each other, Khloe and Lamar got married in 2009 and shortly after opened up about their relationship on an E! reality series entitled, "Khloe & Lamar."

The former Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers star — who's worth an estimated $100 million — has waived any claims to his 29-year-old wife’s $18 million fortune, estimated to total much less, at around $18 million, according to RadarOnline.

Here's an outline of what Khloe gets to keep:

• “Khloe will be entitled to $500,000 for each year married to Lamar and she could petition for spousal support,” a source with knowledge of the prenup told Radar.

• She’ll also keep the engagement ring — worth $1 million — along with all jewelry and gifts given to her by love-rat Lamar during the course of their strained four-year marriage.

• “She will only be entitled to spousal support from Lamar for half the length of their marriage, which would be less than two years.

• Kardashian will retain the couple’s $4 million Tarzana, Calif., mansion, as part of the impending divorce.

Khloe will also remain as the beneficiary on a $10 million life insurance policy Lamar has and that will remain for the rest of their lives.”
