Kendrick's Gracious Response To Macklemore's Text Message About "Feeling Bad He Won A Grammy & Lamar Didn't"

Over the weekend, rapper Macklemore was taken back when he won "Best Rap Album for Heist" beating out Kendrick Lamar during the 56th annual Grammy Awards last Sunday.

The 30-year-old rapper texted Kendrick -- whose Good kid, m.A.A.d City album was expected to take home the award -- to tell him how bad he felt about the Grammy snub.

Macklemore also wrote the accompanying post (courtesy of RumorFix):
“My text to Kendrick after the show. He deserved best rap album… I’m honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys. But in that category, he should have won IMO.”
“And that’s taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC it’s proper respect … With that being said, thank you to the fans. You’re the reason we were on that stage tonight. And to play Same Love on that platform was a career highlight. The greatest honor of all. That’s what this is about. Progress and art."
"Thank you. #Grammys”
Now, Kendrick graciously responded to Macklemore's text message via XXL Magazine:
“It’s well deserved; he did what he did, man. He went out there and hustled and grinded. Everything happens for a reason; the universe comes back around, that’s how it go.”
FYI: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis walked away with four trophies for “Best Rap Album,” “Best Rap Song,” “Best Rap Performance” and “Best New Artist.”
