Angie Martinez Resigns From Hot 97 After 20-years; Officially Signed with Rival Station Power 105.1
June 21, 2014GWL StaffLast week, swirling rumors claimed that radio legend Angie Martinez was leaving HOT 97 radio after 20-years of service.
Now, the rumors have turned out to be true. Martinez officially signed with Hot 97's rival radio station, Power 105.1, this past Monday.
The "Voice of New York" radio host resigned from Emmis Communications two weeks ago and joined Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, the home of "The Breakfast Club," where she will reign over her midday competition and Miami's 103.5 "The Beat" by doing afternoon news and more.
"Angie is the Queen of New York City radio she is an incredible talent who continues to blaze trails and we are excited to have her join the team at Power 105.1 and The Beat in Miami," said Thea Mitchem, Senior Vice President of Programming Major Markets, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment in a press release.
Angie has a long, successful history and we look forward to expanding her distinctive style and compelling content to more of our listeners.
