Prosecutors also claim Jordan had the means to support the children after he collected a lump sum from working with top artists like Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Mariah Carey and his ex-girlfriend/rapstress Eve.

US. Attorney Preet Bharara said., Stevie J. earned a substantial income of $193,000 due to his appearance on "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" and another $100,000 from music royalties in the first eight months of 2013.

Meachum said in a statement after Jordan's release:
"My client has been a great father, both emotionally and financially to his kids. "We plan on proving that if there is an amount owed, it is definitely not a million dollars, nor anything close to that amount," Meachum added.
If charged, Stevie J will have to serve the maximum two years in prison.
