Ice-T Disses Rick Ross and Talks Rap Going Pop: “You’re Doin’ Records With Katy Perry, That’s No Longer Rap”

Rapper turned actor Ice-T has has never felt the need to keep quiet when it comes to sharing his opinion on all things hip hop. An hour before the world premiere screening of VH1′s latest Rock Doc, ‘Planet Rock: The Story of Hip Hop and the Crack Generation,’ Ice-T caught up with the network, sharing his thoughts on rapper Rick Ross using his friend (and convicted drug dealer) Freeway Rick Ross’ name while weighing in on the rap and pop cultures meshing together.
According to Ice T, a rap record is no longer rap when you throw Katy Perry or Rihanna on the track. He also talked about the glamorization of street life as well as his thoughts on Lil Wayne.
