Judge Orders Casey Anthony To Pay Double For Investigation Costs
September 23, 2011GossipweloveCasey Anthony has been ordered to pay twice as much as she was originally scheduled to pay after being convicted of lying in the investigation of her missing daughter Caylee.
Judge Belvin Perry ruled on Friday that the amount Anthony, 25, must pay the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is $145,000, an increase over the $25,837 she was initially ordered to pay, bringing the total amount she owes to $217,499.23.
Perry had asked the Sheriff’s Department to resubmit documents that further detailed the cost of the search for little Caylee from July 15, 2008 to September 29, 2008 and they returned with the higher amount of costs.
“We’re glad the judge was able to reconsider the information,” Captain Angelo Nieves of the sheriff’s department said.
Casey’s defense team claimed in the opening arguments of her trial that Caylee accidentally drowned in the family pool on June 16, 2008 and then said she told lies to cover up her death.
The money that Casey must pay will to go various agencies:
*$145.662.21 to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office
*$61,505.12 to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
*$10,283.90 to the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation
*$50 to the State Attorney’s Office <-----$50.00 LMAO
TOTAL: $217,399.23
Her mother Cindy Anthony, recently told Dr. Phil that “her worst nightmare had just unfolded right in front of me,” when she learned Caylee had been missing for 31 days.
