Tyler Rhodes A High School Track Star Stabbed To Death [GRAPHIC VIDEO]
February 03, 2012GWL StaffAn Albany jury will decide the fate of 19-year-old Dhoruba Shuaib, who was charged in the stabbing death of High School track star, 17-year-old Tyler Rhodes. Jurors began deciding the murder case against Shuaib after prosecutors showed the chilling video footage of Rhodes moments before he was stabbed.
On April 30, 2011, Rhodes was stabbed to death after an altercation with Shuaib and another teen, Jah-Lah Vanderhorst.
The prosecution contends Shuaib blocked Rhodes' movements before Vanderhorst plunged a large, black knife into Rhodes' heart. Rhodes chased after Vanderhorst but later collapsed and died.
In the video we can see Rhodes and Vanderhorst squaring off ready to fight with knives in their hands while other kids in the park instigate and cheer them on.
Above: Jah-Lah Tyree Vanderhorst, 16, of 414 Delaware Ave., Albany, was charged with second-degree murder for allegedly killing Tyler Rhodes.
If convicted, Shuaib faces 25 years to life in prison but jurors are also considering the lesser-included offense of first-degree manslaughter, which carries up to 25 years in prison.
Rhodes, a standout with the Albany High School track team, was stabbed about 7 p.m. His alleged stabber, Vanderhorst, goes to trial in March charged with second-degree murder.

Three young black men's lives gone in less than 3 minutes, one of which is forever, WTF! Hate is being pumped into our (our meaning all races) communities in many formats on a daily, consumed by the youth on a daily. Parents wake up and claim your children back because they are the future and as you can see half of it's not looking bright, the other half, the positive half where kids are doing positive things is happening but it gets no light because this BS is what they want you to focus on. I see the real picture, do you?
ReplyDeleteWell said...its such a sad story!
ReplyDeletemy thought and prayers are with the family and friends.#senseless.. what happen to fighting with your hands.
ReplyDeleteI don't care what the argument was over, no one deserved to die. It just truly pisses me off. I bet you it had a lot to do with jealousy
ReplyDeleteOMG OMG and in this whole 3min no one called the police this baby is gone.and all over what? senseless
ReplyDeleteExactly what I was thinking. They up there screaming "Put the knife away", every last one of them knew them knives weren't going away no time soon because both guys were amped up. I just wish he wouldn't have chased him, if he wouldnt have chased him his heart wouldnt have pumped blood so fast due to his adrenaline sky rocketing up. He would have had to hold his chest and at least make it a few more mins. But because he ran the blood was just gushing out of his heart with each pump. Poor kid... this is just so ridiculous and sad. THE GUY TAPING THE DAMN VIDEO INSTEAD OF BEING A DAMN HYPE MAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REAL MAN, HUNG UP AND CALLED POLICE.
ReplyDelete@TK I was the thinking the exact same thing, when he started chasing him I thought oh he must not got him , but then when I saw him laying in the corner of the video, I thought about the blood gushing out and thats what killed him, i mean well the guy who stabbed him killed him but, he would be still here if it wasn't for that
ReplyDeleteTK your absolutely rite!
