In a recent interview with DJ Drama, T.I. introduced his new "Hustle Gang," which includes Australian female rapper Iggy Azalea, who made XXL Magazine's 2012 Freshman cover. Previously, another upcoming female rapper, Azealia Banks, didn't hesitate to question Azalea's XXL Freshman selection and also took the Interscope Records artist to task for using the term "slave master" in one of her rhymes. When you attack one of T.I.'s Hustle Gang artists....he comes out swinging!
During a recent interview with DJ Drama, Tip had a few words for Azealia Banks.
“Strategically if she really cares about a freshmen cover maybe she could hope that she’ll suck enough to get shelved and then next year when the freshmen cover comes back around, maybe she’ll still be a freshman."
He added,
“If you spend half of your day getting money and the other half of your day counting money, you ain’t got no time in your day to worry about nobody else.”
And Iggy proved she could defend herself saying,
“This is my day and it’s my achievement. You have to work to have your own achievements, with all due respect. Instead of worrying about who else is on there, you should just be happy that I’m on there as a woman for women, and if you want to have your own achievement, work and have your own achievement. I can’t take what’s meant for you and you can’t take what’s meant for me.”
Not one to be silenced, Azealia responded on Twitter,
“Lol I NEVER needed the next nigga to sit up on a radio show with me and defend me,” tweeted Banks. “Furthermore, niggas r sitting up here trying to mask/defend what homegirl said. Fuck outta here.”
Come on T.I…. Niggas is not scared of u and whatever shit u got to say on some radio show. … LMFAOO how u a grown man commenting on what’s going on between two girls. Come on son. Stop it.”
And in an attempt to get the last word, Iggy responded to Azealia's tweet saying,
“I said my piece respectfully, something im entitled to do and now that i have, there is nothing else to say."

Can't say I've listened to ether, but I think I will just to see what all the fuss is about..
ReplyDeleteSome people might think I always bash white people but I don't, I like to state fact/truth. My mom is white, so I've experienced both sides of being black and white. First, when an artist is a joke, she's a joke, it has nothing to do with race. That being said, I'm not too crazy about Azalea's music either but she's definitely better than Iggy. It's ridiculous to me when these white artists are given extra praise or attention when their talent is not really all that. They are seen as special simply because they are doing what is considered to be a "black thing". I will like to see black people treated special too when they excel in what is considered to be a "white thing". What better way to have, another black man bashing a black woman over a white girl. Many black people won't think of it like that but trust me white people are smarter than that and know what they are doing.
