BUSINESS MAN: Jay-Z Lands New Music Publishing Gig With Warner/Chappell!
February 20, 2013GWL Staff"Roc Nation" CEO and Hip Hop Mogul Jay-Z has landed himself a new Music Publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music Inc.
The rapper released a statement on Tuesday about the publishing deal saying:
The real meaning of success is being in the position to work with an individual you consider a friend. Jon Platt is such a person. He’s a man of extraordinary character as well as a remarkably talented executive with an ear for music and an eye for talent. It’s great to watch him grow to be one the best in the business.”And according to reports, Mr. Platt (a very tall and widely known in the industry as Big Jon), Warner/Chappell signed the rapper to their publishing administration department for him to share his future work as well as his music since 2008. Through a separate deal, Warner/Chappell will also represent the songwriters at Jay-Z’s entertainment and management company, "Roc Nation."
I guess Beyonce isn't the only one making it rain in 2013!.... And also, Beyonce’s interview on Oprah Winfrey’s “Next Chapter,” which premiered last Saturday night, reportedly brought in 1.3 million viewers. Wow!
