On Valentines Day, Grammy nominated rapper 2 Chainz, whose real is Tauheed Epps, was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia during a Thursday night traffic stop and search in Easton, Maryland after the cops noticed the car he was in-- was speeding.

According to the arresting officer Sgt. Black, who escorted the rapper back to the Maryland Police Station:

"2 Chainz was stopped on Route 50 on Rabbit Hill Road in Talbot, where a trooper observed [the vehicle driving] over 79 miles per hour and a traffic stop was conducted. 

On approaching the vehicle, a strong odor of burned marijuana was emanating from the vehicle. A search was then conducted. Probable cause was conducted and it was found that Mr. Epps had paraphernalia on him with trace of amount of marijuana."

And even though he wasn't jailed for the possession, the rapper received a criminal citation for paraphernalia and possession of CVS and was released on his signature. He was then asked by the cops to take a photo, Chainz tweeted, "Locked me up and then Wanted pictures smh."

Chainz then took to Twitter to rant about the incident saying:

“UMES we on the way , damn police f—kn wit a n-gga , we fina turnUP,”

“We [went] to jail for a grinder??? REALLY???”

2 Chainz claims the drugs and paraphernalia belonged to someone else in his party:

“Not to mention my security said it was his and they said , he don’t smoke,, how da f-k u know? Haha wut a valentines day!!!”.

However, Sgt. Black said the photo with the two officers is being investigated for possible policy violation, reported by Yahoo:

“We are looking into that.  “If we find that a violation of policy occurred that would be dealt with by administration.”

The arrest did not prevent the rapper from having a good show, as he was on his way to a concert at the University of Maryland Eastern Show:

“Despite Easton cops being on some sh-t… @2chainz still did his whole set for UMES,” one Twitter fan posted with the pic below:

Also, the rap star is schedule to appear in court and if found guilty, he could face one year in jail or a fine of up to $1,000.
