Crazy for Coachella 2013: What to See, Do and Wear at the Festival

April 02, 2013Unknown

In California and around the world, music fans and party lovers are preparing to make the pilgrimage to bright, sunny and very warm Indio, California. We can barely stop talking about who's going to perform, who has Coachella tickets and which celebrities are going to be there. If you have passes to the ultimate outdoor music festival, here's what you need to know. If you don't have passes to this sold-out event, you're in luck because you can still get 2013 Coachella tickets at VIP Concierge.

What to Do

The action starts on Friday afternoon, so most people leave early to make it to Indio for the first minutes of the ultimate summer music experience. One festival pass gets you into the Empire Polo Club for three unforgettable days of music. Passes for each weekend of the festival are sold separately. However, you'll get to see all of the bands that will be performing on the five main stages. Between shows, enjoy world-class refreshments and organic fare. Food at the festival is provided by the popular Kogi Food Truck and Coachella pizza veterans Spicy Pie. There will also be food trucks in the VIP areas and near The Terrace and Cantina. Coachella is probably the only festival where vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free food is always available. Plus, there's an open bar, and free water is provided to keep the masses hydrated.

What to See

At Coachella, the action, the eateries and the interactive art and entertainment exhibits are spread across the gargantuan 200-acre Empire Polo Club. Nearly 100,000 people attend the festival each day, making Coachella the biggest party in California. The festival is managed by Goldenvoice, a division of AEG, so all aspects of the festival are well organized. It's still a good idea to get a festival map, and create a concert lineup, so you know where you want to be to see your favorite performers when they hit the stage.

What to Wear

Coachella is all about casual, colorful, Bohemian clothing--and really good walking shoes. Whether you're a VIP or one of the general admission partiers, plan on walking several miles each day. Good, comfortable walking shoes are a must-have item. For guys, country club-casual apparel is encouraged along with lots of jeans, T-shirts, and light-colored shorts. For ladies, shorts, breezy tops and long flowing dresses worn over shorts or bikinis are popular. It gets chilly once the sun goes down on the desert, so carry extra layers. At Coachella, everyone wants to listen to good music and stay comfortable. Don't forget to pack sunscreen and sunglasses in your Coachella survival kit. And certainly don't forget to get your 2013 VIP passes to Coachella before they're gone.
