President Obama
President Obama Drops By The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Talks Trayvon Martin, Racial Dialogue, Lunch With Hilary Clinton & More!
August 07, 2013FredNow of course, the President is going to take some heat from his opponents for appearing on a talk show. So is the life of an American President. But we don't care about that. I love the fact that President Barack Obama feels the need to stay connected the way he has.
Obama's stop by The Tonight Show wasn't all rainbows and unicorns either, he touched on everything from his recent lunch with Hillary Clinton to reassurances that the NSA surveillance programs are not as overblown as they've been made out to be.
He also opened up about the international terror alert the government issued over the weekend and had this to say:
"Terrorists depend on the idea that we're going to be terrorized, we're going to live our lives."Obama admitted he was disappointed that Russia offered asylum to Edward Snowden, but said he still intends to attend the G20 summit in Russia when that comes up. He declined to opine much on Snowden, but insisted that the NSA programs are not that threatening and domestic communications are not being collected en masse.
Obama also reflected on his remarks about Trayvon Martin and the racial dialogue he thinks the country needs to have.
See what else President Obama discussed with Tonight Show host Jay Leno here.
