Rapper Jay Z is broadening his arisen by teaming up big fashion house department store, Barneys New York, to create a project called, "A New York Holiday". The items will pop up in the luxury store's outposts in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, San Francisco, and Boston and Chicago.

The new project is said to celebrate the holidays and give Christmas offerings. According to Barney's NY CEO, "if you close your eyes and think about who best represents New York and stands for the city, you can't help but think about Shawn Carter." He makes a pretty good point!

The Hip-Hop mogul explains more about the project to WWD: "With this project, Barneys New York and I were able to take the slickness, energy and innovation of New York City and translate that into quality, timeless pieces."

TattleTailzz reports, "Jay has personally worked with Alexander Wang of Balenciaga to create a black leather back pack and have collaborated with Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler to create their first ever men’s bag.

He also follows in the footsteps of Lady Gaga, who was invited to curate a hugely popular holiday shopping experience for Barneys in 2011.

The "New Holiday Project" is set to launch on November 20th and 25 percent of all sales will go to the Shawn Carter Foundation.
