Cee-Lo Green Pleads NOT GUILTY To Drug Charge -- Prosecutors Fail To File A Rape Charge Against The Singer!
October 22, 2013GWL Staff
Yesterday, NBC's "The Voice" judge Cee-Lo Green appeared in front of a Los Angeles judge for an "alleged" drug charge stemming from 2012, which he pleaded NOT GUILTY, and with prosecutors failing to file a rape count against the singer because of insufficient evidence.
38-year-old Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, plead not guilty on Monday to giving a woman ecstasy during their dinner date at a popular L.A restaurant in 2012.
According to PageSix, the singer spoke only once during a brief arraignment hearing to acknowledge he understood the court's scheduling of his case. He was then seated front row of the courtroom with his current girlfriend while waiting for a bondsman to post his $30,000 bail.
Despite being pleased that the rape charge was rejected in court, Green is still looking at four years behind bars if he's convicted of furnishing a controlled substance.
He's due back in court Nov. 20 to address the ecstasy count.
