Kevin Hart Donates $250K To Philadelphia Schools! [VIDEO]
November 02, 2013GWL StaffWith all the success from his "Let Me Explain" comedy DVD and his movie career, Comedian and actor Kevin Hart is giving back to his hometown of Philly by donating $250,000 to schools in need of help.
The money will be used to buy 500 new computers for the schools, according to Har, "I am blessed to be in a position that allows me to give back to the city that made me who I am," he said during a press conference.
Despite having to close about two dozen schools this year because of the severe budget cuts, Mayor Michael Nutter joined Hart on Friday to visit four schools that received 300 new laptops.
ABCnews reports: "These computers will allow our students to expand their studies, explore new course material, and prepare for college and careers for years to come," Superintendent William Hite said in a statement.
In addition, 27 city community centers will share 200 desktop computers, which recreation commissioner Susan Slawson called an "invaluable resource for our youth."
