George Zimmerman Lawsuit

Spike Lee Slapped With A Lawsuit Due To A Bad George Zimmerman Tweet!

November 11, 2013Fred

Producer Spike Lee has been slapped with a lawsuit over a bad Zimmerman tweet.

Let's rewind.. Over the Summer after George Zimmerman was found not guilty, Mr. Lee hopped on Twitter and tweeted out an address he believed was George Zimmerman's Florida residence.

Well the elderly couple who actually live at the address weren't too happy.

We all remember emotions were running high at the time but Spike's tweet quickly went viral getting retweeted several times and according to the residents of the address, David and Elaine McClain, their lives were put in danger.

According to TMZ, the couple claims in the lawsuit to have received many death threats and hate mail.
In the lawsuit ... the McClains say they received numerous death threats and hate mail ... and feared for their lives as their address was re-Tweeted countless times.
The McClains say Lee's Tweet of their address encouraged "a dangerous mob mentality." Now they want a lot more for their troubles and grief.
Now I know Spike had no intention of getting "innocent" people involved or causing bodily harm to anyone other than Zimmerman, but he should have verified the address prior to tweeting it out. Do you agree?
