January 28, 2014GWL Staff

Being famous can be hard work. It requires, in many cases, a lot of time away from family and friends. It also results in a person being admired by many and sometimes even stalked.

The press will always become intricately involved, seeping out reports by using inaccurate and satire tabloids to sell newspapers. Most high-profiled celebrities are continuously marred by scandals, even if they are transparent and don’t make any money.

These days, social media plays a big part in many of our lives and is 70 to 80 percent of the time reasonable for breakups. Something as simple as a Facebook update or a Tweet can actually bite you in the a--.

Fans mainly idolizes celebs because they are rich, fabulous, famous and loved by millions, but they are also loathed and gone from their significant other most of the time. As a result, the relationship, even if it is with another celebrity, will suffer. Perhaps this helps to better explain why many celebrity relationships just don’t pan out.

In light of these detrimental factors, there have been some celebs that have made it through the trouble and trials, escaping the Hollywood marriage curse and are still together and happier than ever.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been married for 25 years and counting. Both Hanks and Wilson have attested that the years have literally flown by because their relationship is so “easy going.”

Hanks reflected saying "I knew she was the one when I first set eyes on her." Adding, "Our relationship is really effortless to maintain," citing that's something he had wanted in a relationship his entire life.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick withstood the test of time in their marriage, and like Hanks and Wilson, have been married for more than 25 years. Bacon says that one of the keys to their success is that he works a lot. But when he is away, he dearly misses her, making those times when they are together even more memorable.

Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan also are out to prove that celebs can make it a long time in a marriage. They, like the aforementioned two, have also been married for more than 25 years. Pollan has remained loyal and dedicated as Fox struggles with Parkinson's disease. Both agree that they have had their spats but always seem to make it work.

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman demonstrate that celeb marriages can last a lifetime, even if there is some calamity that takes place in the middle. They have been married for more than 40 years. Most recently, they separated because they were unable to get along. But they have since gotten back together. They cite true love as their source of inspiration.

Denzel and Pauletta Washington also have enjoyed a marriage spanning longer than 25 years. While Washington was widely considered to be a sex symbol in the late 90s, his wife says that she always know who he comes back home to, and that the female fans are of no relationship concern to her.

Under Marriage Watch:

Here's another celebrity couple, Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, who have been married for 15 years and constantly battles wih hundreds of scandals including recent rumors about infidelity. A rumor in which the happy-couple denied.

This couple also share three kids, two together and one from [Will's] previous marriage.
