Nicki Minaj SUED For $30 Million By Ex- Hairstylist; "She Stole My Wig Designs"
February 22, 2014GWL StaffNicki Minaj has been slapped with a $30 million lawsuit by her ex-hairstyle, who was responsible for her many colorful wigs especially the Pink Upper Bun Wig and the Pink High Top that had all the fashion blogs buzzing in 2012.
According to the suit, filed by Terrence Davidson in a district court in Atlanta on Friday, claims the "Young Money" rapstress stole his wig designs and sold and licensed them while cutting him out of the profits.
The TIME exclusively reports, "The pop star's lawyers may complicate it, but we don’t need to get into intellectual-property law. This is basic American morality. Nicki Minaj lied to this man and cheated him,” said Davidson's attorney, Christopher Chestnut.
Davidson states that he and Minaj had previously planned on creating a wig line and film a reality TV show together before going their separate ways. He however says neither of those plans materialized, and the MC's team owed him a balance from Minaj-branded wigs sold via her official website, as well as miniature versions that appeared on the tops of her fragrances.
Davidson, who formally parted ways with Minaj in January 2013 and cited creative differences, is asking for nearly $30 million in damages if the case goes to trial.
