Last year Cam Newton won the Heisman Trophy and was drafted in the first round by the Carolina Panthers.


But Last night, Robert Griffin III, a quarterback for Baylor University, was awarded the 2011 Heisman Trophy. A feat not often accomplished by black college players. 


Griffin, lead his school to a 9-3 record completing 72 percent of his passes for 3,998 yards with 36 touchdown passes and a nation-leading 192.3 efficiency rating.
