Former Danity Kane member
Dawn Richard from Dirty Money is working on her solo career and subliminally dishing about the possible cause of
her breakup from former Day 26 member Qwanell Mosely.
The 28-year-old New Orleans native stopped by BET’s 106 & Park to drop off the video for “SMFU” (an acronym for “Save Me From You”)—a Brandy-esque ballad from her new album, GoldenHeart. During her visit, Diddy’s protege opened up about the song’s inspiration.
”I was going through something really, really bad and instead of me trying to keep things private, I like to give my vulnerability, make it strong, and put it out there,” she explained. “And I feel like there’s a lot of people who pretend to be a hero, but they really are the villains in this story.”
With lyrics like, ”It’s a mystery how no one’s figured you out/When it gets too deep you just let me drown, yeah/Who needs an enemy when the one you love is tearing you down, ohh/And dragging you into the ground,” it’s clear that Dawn got her heart broken a time or two. But, is Que the villian she speaks of? Figure it out for yourself.
Watch Dawn’s video below. Do you think Miss Richard has a creditable chance at becoming a solo artist or do you want someone to save you from this video?
So are you feeling it?
