What Happened Amy Winehouse's Fortune? Singer Leaves Just £3m
March 28, 2012GWL StaffAmy Winehouse's total wealth dropped from an estimated £10m to just £3m by the time she died.
The multi-platinum selling singer entered theSunday Times Rich list back in 2008 with a total fortune of £10m, but after tax and bill deduction, the final amount left in her name was just £2,944,554.
New reports have revealed the Back to Blackstar did not write a will before she died, meaning her family will receive the remaining cash.
"There aren't many 27-year-olds that make a will — and Amy didn't either," a friend told The Sun.
"She had no idea how much money she had and it certainly wasn't the top of her priority list."
There were fears amongst friends and family Amy may have left a chunk of her fortune to her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, regarded as the person who introduced her to heroin and cocaine. However, the lack of a will means he now will not get a penny.
"Had she made a will, Blake may have well been left something — not cash, perhaps an investment. Amy still loved him when she died," the source added.
Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning at her home in London in July of last year.
