Brandy Talks About Accepting The Woman She's Become, Her Album Release & Growing Pains!
June 20, 2012GossipweloveFormer R&B sweetheart Brandy hasn't dropped a new solo music in awhile, and she's looking forward to her album dropping this summer. Speaking of her album, the anticipated Two Eleven (which is her sixth studio album) drops this August 28, 2012, which she told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that "I’m really excited about that.” More details below.................
How excited are you to be back in the game and are you in a right place to put a new album?
“It’s just great to be back to music and doing what I love to do consistently and full time.”
“This project means so much to me. I’ve worked very hard on it. I feel like I have found that right place and the right people are in my life to help me fulfill this dream that I’ve had for a while.”During your time off, did you learn a lot about you and are you a different person than who you was when you were a teenager fresh on the scene.
“When you’re 15 and 16 you don’t really know who you are. So when you are growing up in the public eye and you have this image to uphold, you start to believe the false about you—you know, this is who I am. I’m Brandy! That’s my name; that is not who I am on the inside. That’s not who I grew into as a woman.”
“I am not perfect and I don’t have to be perfect. I am not above mistakes. I can make them and it’s OK. I don’t need to beat myself up for making a mistake.”
“I beat myself up a lot as a teenager, wanting everything to be perfect. [I’m] absolutely a people pleaser, trying to please my fans, trying to please my family, trying to please my record label—anybody that I worked with. I wanted everybody to like me. You know that will drive you into the grave. So I was able to cut that out before that happened.”But after years off and learning more about yourself, are you ready to perform again?
“Even in the break that I took—of course it was great for my spiritual journey and personal self—but there was a part of me that wanted to be on stage,” she said. “There was a part of me that wanted to reach out and touch people and sing to people. That’s a big part of my destiny so I’m back at it.”Now Brandy, are you using this upcoming album to give back to all of your supporters.
“A lot of people out there are rooting for me,” she said, “a lot of people who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I owe this to them.”And there you have it.
So will you be getting a copy of her album?

I have mad respect for Sonja Norwood but this article sounds so arrogant/egomaniac. So Brandy thinks putting out a project that will flop is a gift to her fans???? Why not tell why you and Monica fell out AGAIN???? I'm still mad Monica didn't sing at Whitney's Home Going. Would have BLEW over Keys but Clive was involved! Brandy you're blessed with wealth so go do something positive in the world.......if I hear one more pserson PRETEND their singing talent was on the level of Whitney's I will SCREAM (well unless it's Celion, Mariah, ReRe, Yolanda, Streisand hahaha)!!!
