Both Evelyn and Jen spoke to vh1 in an exclusive interview the day before the reunion show was filmed, but they didn't seemed prepared for any of those events that took place on the reunion special. Is this the very beginning of the book tour?

Yes, my first date was yesterday in the Bronx.

Was there a lot of hometown support?

Yes, there were three hundred people there. The response has been great. From what I’ve seen, the book has been sold out in some stores, so it’s really great.

You wear a lot of hats, professionally, so what’s different about being an author?

It’s something that I never thought I’d be called, and a lot of the fans of the show have been supportive. I’m happy to have the author label. I’d rather be called an author than a mean girl.

You tweeted that you’re the breadwinner now —

I know, that infamous tweet. Well, he was unemployed for two days and I was like, all right, I’m gonna have to hold it down but thank God he’s playing with the Dolphins.

That must make life so much easier now.

So much easier. I don’t have to pack, I don’t have to do anything but move us out of the house in Boston. But when I found out when he ended up getting cut and I didn’t know where he was going to end up, that was one of my stresses.

It didn’t last long though.

No, it didn’t. I didn’t think it would, you know? Chad’s Chad.

On the other hand, I just think he’s perfect to become a commentator or a sports reporter, he has the personality for that.

He has offers, and that’s why I know that even after football, he has a personality that can take him anywhere, he’ll be just fine. We’ll be fine.

What’s it been like shooting your reality show with him?

Shooting with Chad has been very interesting, to say the least. I thought that filming with him would be easier, like, oh, I’m going to film with my fiance, this is going to be great, but it’s been more challenging than filming with girls. The show is based on me and him and we both need to show up and do what we need to do, but you know, he can also be a little bit annoying.

Before the reunion, no one had any idea how it would go, it was pretty tense beforehand. So when you and Jennifer got on stage and actually reconciled and hugged, that was big, but she said “I don’t want to do this here,” and it sounded like you guys would have a follow up conversation. Did that happen?

I sent her an email just letting her know that I meant what I said on the reunion, I didn’t want her to think that it was just a reunion stunt, and she responded, she wished me happy mother’s day, and we said we would talk, and that was the last of it because I’ve been all over the place. We haven’t spoken since then.

Do you want to pursue it and speak with her, or are you just going to see where things go on their own?

I’m just taking things one day at a time, it’s still a sticky situation with everything else that’s going on, so I’m just not doing anything.

Were you surprised by how it played out at the reunion?

Yeah, I was. I didn’t think that that was what would happen, but I’m also glad and relieved and it was a load off. And it also shows that we can be grown adults and women and move past it. We can fight, argue, whatever, and then bury the hatchet.

Shaunie made that statement about finding a balance on the show at the very beginning of the reunion, and by the end of the reunion, it really did seem like you guys were working to be more positive.

Yeah, it was a great response at the reunion and on my Twitter feed, it’s all been very positive. Because it was tough during the season. It’s been insane. But we’re good.
