Today's crazy news comes in, where A fired fashion stylist named Jeffrey Johnson wearing a suit was shot dead by the NYPD this morning outside the Empire State Building. More details below.................
The alleged gunman opened fire early this morning along 33rd St. between 5th and 6th avenues, where he killed Steve Ercolino, 41, former boss at Hazan Imports and injured nine others during the morning rush hour and side walk traffic.
“There was blood on the sidewalk,” said witness Rebecca Fox. “It was like a scene out of CSI, but it was real. I was literally shaking.”
Nine other people were injured, before the shooting stopped just after 9 a.m. near the main Fifth Ave.
Among the injured were a Bronx mom and a North Carolina yoga instructor.
Two officers fired 14 rounds at Johnson from about five feet away after the gunman started blasting without provocation, officials said.
The streets around the Midtown building were choked with emergency vehicles, and witnesses reported bloody victims calling for help after as the smoke was still clearing.
He was a designer of women’s accessories and was fired last year when the company downsized, the mayor said.
The killer and his victim had a history of problems, with each accusing the other of workplace harassment, said NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly.
The unidentified construction worker followed the fleeing suspect and notified two cops assigned to the Empire State entrance.
When they approached Johnson, he pulled the handgun from a black bag and started shooting — with the cops returning fire, said Kelly.
According to NYdailynews, The injured victims with shot in the legs, buttocks and elbows, were all expected to survive the shooting.
FBI agents were on the scene, but law enforcement sources said there was no apparent evidence that the shooting had any link to terrorism.

Mayor Money Bags would have use this to justify spying on Muslims. now, he will just blame the 2nd Amendment instead of the bad economy in NYC. How about the shooting over selling oil on the street. Money Bag has everyone looking at everything else, instead of the bad economy in NYC. SMH
ReplyDeleteMaybe he probably a true bully as an employer. I've worked for one of those, and thank God I wasn't as fragile as Johnson. Be careful how you treat others....ya never know.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't the police just shoot the gun out of his hand? Why did they have to kill this poor man? He obviously had mental problems, the police could have shot him with a tranquilizer or tased him or maybe use their hostage negotiation police to talk the gun out of his hand.

ReplyDeleteThis definitely goes for all you liberal nuts that want to take away gun rights. This had nothing to do with the NRA or any other organization, this was a horrible act committed by a nut that most likely bought this gun from some one on the street...So put that into perspective.....

ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that bloombugs gun policies didnt help these poor victims I hope the peopled that were harmed by this nut get well soon...Bloomberg will have to really spin this one....The only ones allowed to carry in NYC are the cops and the criminals....How unfortunate for the hard working New Yorkers...Bloomberg and his cronies need to go away....

ReplyDeleteOne thing for sure there must be a lot of scared people in management who fired people. They must be looking around their shoulders as they approach the buildings they work in. I know just about every organization got someone in authority who is insolent and got stone cold heart. I read in another news source this man was observed by neighbors each morning dressed in a suit and tie going out. He would then return home with breakfast from McDonald's. It appears he kept up a ritual dressing up but with really no where to go. The other article said he is 58 years old not 53. If true even harder for a man of 58 years old to get a job in this economy competing with people half his age. So now wonder he figured he had nothing to live for.
