Rapper Ja Rule (aka Jeffrey Atkins), who has been locked up since June 2011 over a gun conviction, has shared a few prison pics on his Web site, while announcing a 4 months early release and a upcoming movie.

Here's what the now buff 36 year-old rapper had to say on his personal site:

Ja Rule‘s prison sentence is coming to an end. The sentence began on June 7th 2011. During that time he is gained his high school diploma and released his 7th studio album Pain is love 2 (PIL2) with the help of long time producer 7 Aurelius. He is expected to be released on 02/21/2013.

And according to Ja, "I've made some new friends, earned my high school diploma, and started work on a new movie all while behind bars."
