Charles Barkley’s no amateur when it comes to controversy and recently the sports analyst lived up to his name by cracking a rather inappropriate joke referencing slavery on national television.

It all started when the former baller was asked by co-host Kenny Smith who his favorite president was. Barkley answers,

“I love President Obama, but Abe Lincoln is my new favorite president.” Barkley added. “You know why? Because if it weren’t for him, we’d be calling Ernie (Johnson) ‘boss’.”

Both Kenny and former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal tried to change the subject, but Barkley couldn’t stop there, he comes in again calling someone “Boss” before they wrap up the show.
