"American Idol" producers are allegedly planning to fire judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson, due to bad reviews and worse ratings, according to TheWrap.

The site reports, FOX plans to start the show from scratch next time around, after receiving bad reviews and worst ratings ever. Also, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, one of the show's veteran, may not be returning for next season.

"American Idol" drew in a much lower share of 18 to 49 year-old than "The Voice."

Kantar Media also reports that 'Idol' made $836 million in ad revenue last year, less than what they made this year.

However, all four judges (except for Ryan Seacrest, who will be returning) have the option to renew their contracts for next season, but FOX is said to be recruiting new judges.

So far, Fox has declined to comment on the report, and representatives for the judges have not yet responded to the news reports.

Plus, "X-Factors" Simon Cowell reportedly called a staff meeting earlier this week to talk about wanting judges with "chemistry," not pop-culture fame.
