Sean Kingston Finally Responds To Gang Rape Allegations + Settles $5 Million Lawsuit With The Victim!
August 31, 2013GWL StaffWe recently reported that a 22-year-old woman named Carissa Capeloto was accusing singer Sean Kingston, his bodyguard and a band member of alleged gang rape.
Capeloto, who sued Kingston for $5 million, claims the incident occurred right after a Justin Bieber and Kingston concert in July 2010. But when she showed up to Kingston's hotel, he was already waiting on his bed naked.
Capeloto claims the bodyguard picked her up and placed her on top of Kingston, and all three of the men proceeded to gang rape her while she was “obviously intoxicated, incapable of consent.”
Capeloto says her friend later entered the room and rescued her. The police were called and Capeloto was taken to the hospital where she says she was treated for physical injuries consistent with rape.
She says her life has been ruined … she can barely sleep, has mood swings and panic attacks. The singer however did not deny having any sexual contact with Capeloto and insists the intercourse was consensual.
Now, 23-year-old Kingston took to his Twitter account to speak about the allegations on Friday. Here's what he had to say:
“Don’t believe the hype,” he told his 3,600,000 followers. “I am a child of GOD and have a great relationship with him…. I live a positive life so I know I’m good.”
“In this world no matter who you are what u do… they are people trying to bring u down constantly…praying on ya downfall gotta be strong,” he continued. “Who GOD BLESS No Man Shall Curse.”He added, “The devil is working… But I’ve been through the fire before and it’s nothing him and his friends can do to stop me! I believe in GOD.. Done”
According to TMZ, both Capeloto and Kingston have reached a settlement. Kingston allegedly did not settle because he's admitting he is guilty of the act, but only because of his upcoming tour and new album release which would have prevent him from focusing on the going trial.
Kingston allegedly paid the girl only a fraction of her asking price, which originally was $5 million.
A source tells the site, "Her story wasn't consistent. She told various stories throughout her interviews with police. Her friend's story wasn't consistent with hers. The medical report had no indications of force."
The source stressed to the gossip site that Kingston believes he would have won the case if he had went to trial.
By the way … criminal charges against Kingston were dropped in 2010 after cops concluded Capeloto wasn’t credible enough for a legit case. Kingston has filed legal docs insisting the sex was 100% consensual.
The lawsuit is expected to be dismissed shortly.
