Selena Gomez is dancing in the stars as she knocks Jay Z out of the No. 1 spot on Billboard's top 200 chart with her new album, Stars Dance. A spot the hip-hop mogul held for the past two weeks with his latest Magna Carta Holy Grail album.
This is 21 year-old Disney star's fourth and most successful album ever. And, the singer's album reportedly sold 97,000 copies in it's first week of release within the U.S.
But that's not all... The "Spring Breakers" star also scored the highest-selling single ever with "Come & Get It," which ranked No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 making it her first top 10 song.
This is my fourth record and I work really hard on my music, so to have the first No. 1 is really humbling," Gomez told Billboard. "I feel like 'Come & Get It' was a great surprise. People didn't expect that kind of feel from me in that different genre of music. I really opened myself up to try different sounds with my music."
According to Universal Music Canada, Selena’s album did amazingly well “selling 16,500 copies in its first week, since it was released on July 23 in Canada. This is Selena’s first #1 debut in Canada and features Selena’s double-platinum hit single Come & Get It, as well as her most recent single, Slow Down. Internationally, Stars Dance debuted at # 1 in twenty-eight countries and top 10 in eighty-four countries on iTunes.”
