I see many Christians are well tuned in to "Preachers of L.A" as the first series premiere of the show breaks Oxygen's ratings record... bringing in 1.1 million viewers.

The show is now marked the network's strongest Wednesday season premiere ever according to Nielsen, and delivered Oxygen's second highest rated series premiere among the targeted female 25-54 demo (426,000).

Eurweb reports:
In the 10 p.m. hour, Oxygen was the #5 cable network among F25-54 and compared to the prior four week time period average, the series premiere saw triple digit growth, up 282 percent in total viewers.
Also, “Preachers of L.A.” was the No. 2 most social cable reality program and #3 most social reality program in primetime with #PreachersofLA trending in the U.S. on Twitter during the premiere.
Plus, Bishop T.D Jakes is definitely NOT a fan of the show and has recently blasted them for making a mockery of the church, flaunting their lavish lifestyles on national TV and in the faces of christian folks:
“Now I know you’ve been watching that junk on TV and I want to tell you right now, not one dime of what you’re sowing right now will buy my suit. I want you to know my car is paid for, I want you to know I got my house on my own,” said Bishop Jakes in his fiery Sunday message at his Potter’s House Church in Dallas. He then goes on to make clear where his money comes from, saying “I have sold enough books and produced enough movies I don’t need your offering to pay for this little slimy suit,” before stating, “I am not from L.A., I’m from Dallas.”

And on Episode 2 of Preachers of L.A., intense meet-ups are abound. First, Bishop Ron Gibson and First Lady Lavette invite Minister Deitrick Haddon and fiancée Dominique out to dinner, via Oxygen.

Haddon seeks advice from the long-married couple as he embarks on his second time around, but is met with hostile questioning. “Are you guys shacking?” Gibson asks bluntly. Meanwhile, Loretta puts the pressure onBishop Noel Jones to get serious about her.

  1. The word “noose-ish” may or may not have come out of Jones’ mouth when describing how Loretta makes him feel. In the church, Pastor Jay Haizlip battles with how to handle a former church member’s sex change. What’s the church member’s one request? That Haizlip call him David, not April. Watch the full episode to see how the preachers come to grips with their pressures!
