Actress Gabrielle Union is covering the December issue of ESSENCE magazine, and gets real honest about her personal life.

During her interview with the mag, Union chatted about her upcoming BET series "Being Mary Jane" which she says viewers will finally have a chance to see a black female lead that encompasses all of women's complexities as hard working double minorities bogged down by families and wants to get their groove on every now and then.
“It would be easy to label Mary Jane a freak…but enjoying sex doesn’t make you a ho,” she said. “I hope [Being Mary Jane] widens the conversation. I hope people will be more forgiving of those who explore their sexuality unapologetically.”
Gabby, who recently turned 41 and was styled by June Ambrose for the cover photo, also opened up about her "mean girl" past and was quite honest about her motives for cutting down other women:
"There's this intense desire for us all to be chosen by a man, or a job, or chosen for fame, whatever. But when you're in the public eye and you're not chosen, the rejection feels public. So to cover the wound, you attack the person who is chosen."
And having a hot baller boyfriend like Dwyane Wade wrapped in her fingers, the actress even dished on enjoying sex and how a conversation with AJ Johnson and Beyonce at a salon changed her life.

The new issue of ESSENCE hit newsstands on November 8th and BET's "Being Mary Jane" premieres on January 7th.
