Despite having a hell of a year, rapper Kendrick Lamar is gracing the cover of GQ Magazine's latest men's issue and now holds the publication's title of "Men of the Year."

During his interview with the magazine, the 26-year-old rapper talked about his "Control" verse, music career and his relationship with rapper Drake.

Here's a few highlights from the interview (via Complex):

On his relationship with Drake:
"We're pretty cool. I mean, I would be okay if we weren't."
On attending P. Diddy's afterparty just weeks after dropping control:
"I only go when there's a point. Usually the point is just ni**as drinking. But walking through the club the week after I released the 'Control' verse? That's a point!"
Plus, during his Power 105.1s interview at the BET Cypher Awards, Lamar told the radio hosts -- when asked about the track being a direct diss to the Young Money rapper: "Drake isn't a creative influence or role model. If anything, we all peers." Ouch!

The December 2013 issue of GQ is available on newsstands now.
