"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Peter Thomas is being sued for owing nearly $100,000 in back rent ... a balance Cynthia Bailey's husband hasn't paid on his Bar One space since March 2013.

Via Reality Tea, Bailey's hubby -- who is known for pulling stunts, living large and going way over their agreed budget, has failed to pay rent on the building he occupies with his reality star wife, says the Landlord.

A separate suit was also filed against Cynthia, who reportedly owes $29,000 in back rent on her Bailey Modeling Agency property.

Peter responded to the new suit, denying the reports amd claimed it's all just a big misunderstanding on his primary landlord 'Showtime Cafe', whom haven't been applying him and Cynthia's rent to the mortgage -- which forced the building to go into foreclosure.

Peter states that last March he started putting his rent in escrow with his attorney until the landlord could get the foreclosure situation figured out, but however failed to do so and the building was auctioned off in October 2013.

Peter tells Access Atlanta that he's "been caught in the middle of the crossfire." "I don’t owe them anything," he said. The RHOA star also claims that the landlord has tried to evict him twice and says that he did more than $120,000 in renovations on the space.

The landlord is hoping to settle the issue as soon as possible so they can evict [Peter] and lease both properties to well-paying tenants.

Hold up, we're not done yet!

Peter's long history of eviction records was recently obtained by Radar Online, proving this is NOT the first time he's been in a scuffle for back rent with his landlord.

According to the court documents, Peter was served an eviction notice by a different landlord, Boye Architecture, in August 2010. It is unclear how that case was resolved.

And in November 2009, court records show, Glenwood East Apartments served Thomas with an eviction notice, but that case was eventually dismissed.
