Heavy D Nas

Nas - "The Don" [New Music]

Nas might call himself the "The Don," but we think a more appropriate name would be the "Don Dada." Nas is giving us some serious Jamaican-vibes with his latest single, "The Don."

Funkmaster Flex premiered the track today, and what can we say, it’s fire. Nas sounds hungry as ever as he raps over a knocking Caribbean-influenced beat. If you ever wondered how a reggae version of Lil Wayne’s “A Milli” sounds — this is it.

On the track the legendary MC raps:

"Every tat means something, that's my word on my body.
I have to lean something with that Mossberg shotty.
My n*ggas is ignant, put lead in your pigment.
Just cause y'all were mad at all the years I was getting it."
The banging track was produced by longtime Nas collaborator Saleem Remi, Da Internz and deceased hip-hop legend Heavy D.

We're not sure if Heavy D really did any work on the song before he died, or if this is just Nas' way of paying homage. But Nas has a hot line about the rapper/producer, saying: “Heavy D gave this beat to Salaam for me to rap to.”

Listen to the track below, and let us know what you think!
