February 19, 2013GWL Staff2013 is definitely off to a good start for 31 year-old Beyonce, as she opens up about her private life, showing off her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, chatting with Oprah Winfrey to putting out a HBO documentary that has the critics talking and gagging for more.
On Saturday night, Beyonce drew 1.8 million to her intimate documentary "Life is But a Dream" during its premiere night. It's the largest audience for a HBO doc since Nielsen revised its method of measuring viewership in 2004.
According to the HollywoodReporter, the only other documentary to approach Beyonce's doc was previous record-setter "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts." The Spike Lee miniseries is about the devastation caused to New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina getting 1.7 million viewers in 2006.
However, Bey's doc brought in three-times the ratings of recent first-runs for HBO's Sunday series Girls.
