The OMG Girlz SHINING BRIGHT On The Cover of RollingOut; Dishes On Celebrity Crushes, Their Bond & Dating!
September 12, 2013GWL StaffThe OMG Girlz are shining bright on the covers of RollingOut Magazine's newest issue, and dishes on sisterhood, celebrity crushes, dating (something rapper T.I isn't a fan of), future plans and the true definition behind the name 'OMG Girlz'.
Star, Baby Doll and Beauty are average teens; they love to keep their lips lacquered in MAC and lush cosmetics, and they love to experiment with hair dye -- from bubblegum pink to aqua and violet. Which makes these genteel and gorgeous, pint-sized singers stand out under the careful watch of hip-hop power couple T.I and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Harris, who manages the girls.
Here's a few highlights from the interview:
Beauty: "OMG stands for Officially 'Miss Guided,' so we’re on the right path and going in the right direction. With that being our headlining statement we just want to make great music that you can move to that doesn’t have cursing and put out great messages [that] shows that we’re just regular teenagers in the spotlight. Every picture we take and every move we make, we’re just very cautious of it for our fans."What do you each think you add to the OMG Girlz?
Beauty: "I think what I bring is a very fun element. I love making the girls laugh and I love making the team laugh. So I feel like I just bring a really happy, fun element to the group.."
Baby Doll: [Interrupts] "And you bring beauty to the group!"
Beauty: "Aww, thank you!
Baby Doll: "I bring the crazy animated person that I am onstage. Also behind the scenes I’m 'mother' of the group, or the big sister. I don’t really want to say mother because that sounds old! [Laughs.]"
Star: "I bring a really chill vibe. I’m always laid-back."
Star: Getting to meet our fans.
Beauty: Accomplishing a lot of things together — like when we got our first deal and being the first girls ever on the Scream tour. It feels good to have done that together. We’re sisters and it’s just a lot of fun.Do you all have college plans in your future?
Star: We all would like to go to college. Me and Beauty [would] like to go to UCLA and Baby Doll would like to go to NYU, but we’d probably do that online.
Baby Doll: We would love to do that and do the entertainment business at the same time. Star, I know your father, T.I., hates the idea but you’re clearly old enough to date. Are you or any of the other girls dating right now?
Star: No, we’re just chilling and working. That’s the ultimate goal here, to make it. Boys come later. So later on when you do have downtime from your music, what are some ways a guy could your attention?
Star: For me it’s personality thing. You’ve gotta be funny, gotta be able to make me laugh and just [be] chill. I like somebody who’s real laid-back, not somebody who’s loud or out there, because I don’t like that.
Baby Doll: A guy that has my attention is one who has his spirit together, I need him to put God first in his life and know who God is. Going along with that I want him to have his life together and be smart and have something going on with him, not just waiting on me to pay the bills. Star: Yes, lord!
Beauty: For me a guy that makes me laugh and knows he’s fly.Do you ladies have any celebrity crushes?
Beauty: I have three. I like Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony and Tyga.
Baby Doll: As a group we love Big Sean, Star and I share Chris Brown and I think Wiz Khalifa’s kind of cute. And more importantly I love Channing Tatum, I love to dance so maybe we could do a Step Up [movie] together. [Laughs.]
Star: I like Chris Brown, Big Sean and Shia LeBeouf. [Also] John Mayer and Nick Jonas. I’m going to say that one more time; and Nick Jonas.
Baby Doll: Keeping God first.
Beauty: Yes! That’s really what it is. We definitely pray together and we communicate. If there’s an issue and we get into a little argument, we sit and talk about it. And once we work it out, it’s done with, we just forgive and forget. I think that’s very important.
Baby Doll: Also it’s just learning each other as well. If you know that person doesn’t like this, then we watch out for this. We respect each other.
Star: And we always keep in mind that we were sisters before we were a group. In a few years when you grow up to become the “OMG Ladies” where do you see the group? Beauty: I just seeing us being [more] mature. Our fans [will] definitely grow with us so I think it will be a more mature type of thing with more mature music but we’ll still be the same fun-loving girls. I see us being big and doing merchandising. We want to do movies and TV shows and we even want to do behind-the-scenes stuff like writing for other people and producing. We event want to start our own protégé girl group. Baby
Doll: You’re going to see OMG as a brand everywhere. Like how the Kardashians take over, we’re taking over everything. E! [network] come check us out!
Beauty: You [will] just have to tune in and see.Check out their behind-the-scenes photo-shoot video HERE!
Baby Doll: Like she said, we’re going to get into everything. Wink, wink!
Star: Watch out for us!
