November 29, 2013Fred

Yesterday, many celebrities fled to their respective families homes to cook up a storm, enjoy good food, catch up on missed times, and to give thanks on Thanksgiving day.

Some of our favorite celebs even took the time to share pictures of themselves with their family on social media sites and to prove they are humans just like us. Check out the photos below:

Kim Kardashian shared the above pic with fiance Kanye West and his family mixed with a few of her close family and friends, with caption:
"Being away from home for the holidays is hard but I'm so thankful for family & friends like this! I love you guys!"
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, who continues to dispel rumors about their marital issues, shared a cute family portrait spending some quality time together with their twins Monroe and Moroccan:
"Family prepping time! #pecanpie #thanksgiving"

Kendall Jenner shared a photo (below) of her family's Thanksgiving dinner spread with caption, "yesss #ThanksgivingDinner." Spoiler alert: The Kardashian's also filmed a Holiday series airing this Sunday.

Heidi Klum shared her a pic (below) of her turkey (#roasted):

"Happy Thanksgiving everyone :)"

Chrissy Teigen shared a cute photo of herself posing with her mom and sister enjoying the day at a family get together (but where's her sexy husband John Legend?):

"mom, my sister and I! happy thanksgiving, everybody!! Thankful for you all, really."

And what does Oprah Winfrey do on Thanksgiving? Well she does what everyone else does, cook and enjoy thanksgiving with close family and friends!..Yeah, why hire an expensive chef when you can do it yourself!

"Almost ready! #happythanksgiving"

Plus, there can't be a Thanksgiving without the First Family's "Presidential Pardon" turkey ceremony that dates back to JFK!

President Obama was in full family mode on Thursday with his wife Michele Obama and their children Sasha and Malia.

The President told the crowd that gathered outside the White House that this year's pardoned turkey was chosen from 80 birds and its name is 'Popcorn':
"The office of the presidency — the most powerful position in the world — brings with it many awesome and solemn responsibilities..."This is not one of them."
"It was, quite literally, the Hunger Games." As Malia and Sasha looked on, he ended by saying "Popcorn, you have a full reprieve from cranberry sauce and stuffing. We wish you well."

The Obamas later spent the evening volunteering at a local food bank in Washington, D.C.
