Ke$ha's Mother, Pebe, Blames Former Manager & Producer For Her Daughter's "Eating Disorder"

Earlier this month, we reported that pop star Ke$ha had checked herself into Timber Knolls rehab center in Chicago for an undisclosed eating disorder.

Now, the 26-year-old's mother, Pebe Sebert, opened up about her daughter's eating disorder in an exclusive interview with People and revealed what prompted the singer to enter rehab for 30 days.

Pebe said Ke$ha's body issues got out of control the moment she signed with producer Dr. Luke and former manager David Sonenberg at the age of 18.
"One time on a conference call, Sonenberg was screaming, 'You need to lose weight! I don't care what you do... take drugs, not eat, stick your finger down your throat!'" Kesha's mother told the magazine. "Kesha was just weeping. She drove around afterward thinking about killing herself."
Kesha's mother explained to the magazine how serious her eating disorder became, saying:
"The doctors told me her blood pressure and sodium levels were so low, they'd never seen it that low except with someone who'd had a heart attack or stroke. They said it was a miracle she hadn't already dropped dead on stage."
Sonenberg, who however denied the allegations, said Dr. Luke was also harmful to Kesha's self-esteem.
"He has just always been very disrespectful about her weight. He'd say it in certain ways, like 'Why don't you try running?'" Kesha's mother said. "She was doing everything and not getting thin fast enough, and that's when she first became bulimic."
