Funeral Whitney Houston

Bobby Brown Who Left Whitney's HomeComing Before It Began, Issues A Statement!

February 18, 2012GWL Staff

There's been speculation all week as to
Bobby Brown's attendance at Whitney Houston's funeral today in Newark, New Jersey. But in fact, he was invited, and due to church over crowding he left because he did'nt want any drama. I think they at-least needs to give Bobbi credit for that! After a tumultuous relationship, it's not fully clear on what Bobby's relationship is like with Whitney's immediate family.

According to a person familiar with the situation, Brown brought an entourage of nine people with him to the Newark church and wanted them to sit with them in the family section.
"They were asked to leave," the person said, referring to the entourage. Brown was not asked to leave, but "he left with the other people," according to the person, who was not at liberty to discuss the situation publicly.

Rev. Al Sharpton tweeted at 1:15PM EST:

Brown seat was moved three times, in which he decided to leave Whitney's funeral. He kissed the casket and was not allowed to see his daughter, Bobbi Kristina. On the situation, he has released a statement saying:
My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston.  We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.
I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.

Brown appeared visibly upset as he left the church and got into a black Cadillac SUV.

  1. I think it is a crying shame that this woman has passed away and people can not let by gones be by gones. For crying out loud they have a child together. He is not the person responsible for her death. We all make choices in life that we regret later on. STOP BLAMING THAT MAN FOR HER DEATH. BLAME YOURSELVES FOR NOT UNITING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY AND FORCE HER TO GET HELP. It seems to me that the more intoxicating she was the more ya took advantage of her. Put the blame were the blame needs to be and leave Bobby Brown alone. He has his own demonds to deal with!

  4. @Katdee i agree but i was watching them clearly when he stood there for a min. a couple ppl with him looked like his other children.. one guy in particular was crying so hard he couldnt even hold his head up as bobby kept trying to comfort him and fight back the tears for himself... then it was clear how emotional they all were.. so it was probably best he left because clearly he was angry.. they hate him so much they denied him the request to speak! that is sad that man loved her! they both had baggage she knew that and still married and stayed with him. i pray for all of them.

  6. So much for Christian values Cissy. You need rehab too so that you can get out if denial Bobby didn't force Whitney to do anything. Although their marriage didn't last they loved each other, have a child together and shared a blended family together. It's not Bobby's fault so why is it that he couldn't share words regarding the woman he loves. Poor Bobby

  9. And im not surprised at Bobby thinking of himself more than his daughter....i normally dont judge but i will call this one..he should of been up there with his daughter...as family and giving tribute to Whitney...and his love for his family..not coming with a entourage...i am so glad they turned him and the crew away...why should them people sit up front with him as family...there is such a thing as protocol...ignorant ass...low class...gutter

  12. They invited him, which was an after thought, they wont let him speak or at least say farewell and wont let his own other children that are bobbi kristinas step brothers sit together with him! At times like this, you got to let by gones be by gones. At least he didnt commit murder!
